Add AOL Mail Account to iPad

Add AOL Mail Account to iPad

Open the Settings app on your iPad, scroll down to find Mail; Tap on Mail > Accounts > Add Account.

Now you should see a list of various email services, such as iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google, Yahoo, Aol, Outlook.com, and Other. Choose Aol. from the email providers list.

Manually type in your AOL email address, such as joe@aol.com, then enter the password for your mail account. Tap Next button to proceed.

The Mail app will verify your AOL account credentials with AOL Mail server. After the authentication, your AOL Mail account will be added to your iPad. And you will have the chance to choose which services you want to sync with your iPad, such as Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes.

iPad will automatically choose IMAP as the default AOL mail protocal. Every action you take with your AOL email on your iPad is synced on the IMAP server. If you organize your email into folders, you can access your AOL email from elsewhere and see the same folders you set up on your iPad.  IMAP is ideal for email management on multiple devices, it can keep your AOL emails synced very well.

An alternative to setup AOL email on iPad is to use the manual configuration method. From the email providers list, you can choose Others other than AOL to enter into the manually setup mode.

If you cannot add Aol account to your iPad, double check the manual setup and configurations, you need to use “imap.aol.com” as the “Incoming Mail Server”, server port is 993, “smtp.aol.com” as the “Outgoing Mail Server”, server port is 465 or 587; make sure to input full email address into both “Incoming Mail Server” and “Outgoing Mail Server.”
