Record sound in MP3, WAV format on iPhone

Voice Memos, the stock sound recorder app on iPhone, allows users to capture any sound, voice or audio and save them as .m4a files. You can’t use it to record audio in other formats on iPhone, like WAV, MP3. If you need to record audio in MP3 or WAV format on iPhone, you need a third-party sound recorder app.

Awesome Voice Recorder is another great audio recorder app for iPhone. It comes with both pro and free versions. You can download and use its free version with ads from previous linked page. This app is very easy and effective to record audio.

From the home screen of the recorder app, tap the Settings icon, then scroll down to the Recording options section, find File Format, then tap the – or + icon in a circle to change sound format, mp3, m4a or wav

Go back to the home screen to start recording and save it in the file format specified in the Settings.
