Videos recorded and saved on our iPhone and iPad take up the majority of space on our devices. Exporting them from iOS device to computer is the usual way we can reclaim more free space on our iPhone iPad. Other than this, you can also use a video encoder or editor to reduce the video file size by adjusting its resolution, bit rate, frame rate, etc. If you have loaded off the videos to a PC or Mac, you have many solutions for this purpose, like Microsoft Clipchamp, Adobe Premiere, Handbrake, etc. In this article, we recommend two easy ways to reduce down the video size with or without a video compressor.
Method 1. Trim a video in Photos app
The Photos app is a built-in app with tools to edit and cut videos. This is the easiest and probably the best way you can remove a portion of the beginning or end of a recorded video clip on iPhone. Open the Photos app on your iPhone. Find the video from your Camera Roll or Videos album. Touch the Edit button at the top right corner.
Drag the left and/or right arrow to select the starting or ending frame on the video thumbnails. Tap Done and select Save Video or Save Video as New Clip to save the video. The former will overwrite the original video, the later will create a new video clip with the length of the source video you have selected.

Method 2. How to quickly reduce video file size on iPhone?
Download the video compressor from App Store first. You can download and use its free version with ads. Free and paid versions have the same functionality.
Launch the Video Compress app on your iPhone. Browse to your Camera Roll to select and add the video to the compressor app. Then select the target file size you like to reduce down to and touch the Save button at the top right corner to compress the video.

Don’t close the video compressor app during the process. Once it is finished, you will have the options to save it to your Camera Roll, or share it through email, or other apps.

Video compression bonus tips
If necessary, you can firstly trim the video in Photos app, then use the compressor app to compress it, in this way you can greatly reduce iPhone video size.
