Share PC internet connection with iPhone

Your internet connection can be shared between wireless machines and devices. For example, iPhone users can share their data connection via personal hotspot. This is useful when you are traveling and you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection available for your laptop to get some job done on the go. On the other way, if your computer is connected to a network, you can also share its internet connection from computer to your mobile phone. In this quick guide, we will show you how to share PC internet connection with mobile phones. To do that however, you will firstly need to setup mobile hotspot on PC. We will use a Windows 10 PC and an iPhone in the demo to show you how to share PC internet connection with iPhone and more devices.

On your Windows 10 computer, click the Start >> Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot. Click the On/Off toggle to turn on Mobile hotspot. The Network name and Network password will be displayed. You can find more details from this tutorial to setup hotspot on Windows 10 computer.

Now unlock your iPhone, go to Settings >> Wi-Fi, turn on Wi-Fi and choose the Windows 10 hotspot network to connect, type in the password when prompted.

Note that you can connect up to 8 different devices at the same time to the mobile hotpsot on Windows 10 PC.

Share your PC Wi-Fi network with friends via hotspot

Sometimes you want to get your friends online at home but do not want to give out your password. You can also follow above instructions to create a mobile hotspot on your computer and let your friends connect to the hotspot network other than connecting to your wireless router directly. This PC Wi-Fi sharing method is easier than setting up a guest Wi-Fi network.

If you want to allow more than 8 devices or users to use your internet connection, the hotspot can’t help. You may create a guest Wi-Fi account, or share your Wi-Fi network via QR code. The Wi-fi network sharing via QR code can usually be found in public places, such as restaurants, hotels, airport, metro, cafe, etc.
